Tu-95 with F-15 escort.

Russian Defense Ministry officials said that two Tu-95MS Bear bombers were shadowed by Japanese and South Korean fighters as they flew over the Pacific Ocean Wednesday.

Japanese fighters were described as F-2s. F-15s are also mentioned, but both Japan and South Korea have F-15s in their inventory.

The bombers were apparently flying from Ukrainka airbase, which is near Svobodny, in the Russian Far East.
